One of my favorite ground covers. I like it for the following reasons:
1 - It does not climb like ivy. It will spread, but not aggressively, but it will never climb walls or other plants.
2 - Deer will not touch it. I've never seen a single instance of deer browsing this plant.
3 - Great in the shade.
4 - It's a relative of the boxwood, which I think is really cool.

Downside? It's not native. It needs really rich soil or it will not thrive.
